Yacht Description
The original owner has spent a considerable effort refining this high performance yacht into a competitive racer that is an exceptional offshore cruiser. The boat has been extensively modified to allow the conversion from a racing configuration to a cruising configuration. This boat is a great performance cruiser with the new 6'6" keel. It performs better then any other C&C 121 with the 6.6 foot keel, thus making this C&C 121 a good club racer and a great offshore racing boat - and all in great comfort!! In a 40-foot boat, you will not find a better combination of performance and comfort. It has a larger engine, generator, additional head and many other enhancements to make it a superb offshore cruiser. Enhancements such as rod rigging, oversized winches and much more enhance this yacht's racing form.

  • CoreCell core laminate locally reinforced with carbon fiber. The hull is post-cured to 145 degrees
  • The incredible adhesion properties of epoxy eliminates all chopped strand mat from the structural hull laminate schedule. Chopped strand mat is the cheapest, heaviest, and weakest component that dominates conventional polyester hull construction
  • Pound-for-pound a post-cured epoxy resin laminate is 10 times stronger than a comparable polyester resin laminate
  • The oven post-curing process maximizes the physical properties of the laminate and minimizes future post-cure cosmetic blemishes characteristically seen in conventional polyester laminates
  • Hull cosmetics are also enhanced by the extremely low shrinkage of epoxy resin vs. polyester resin (1% vs 7%) and the reduction in overall resin content thus eliminating or reducing post-cure hull distortions found in conventional polyester laminates
  • The vacuum-bagging process and strict resin control through use of resin impregnators produces a hull laminate with 65% glass reinforcement content. The industry norm for polyester resin hull laminates is 25% glass content
  • CoreCell closed cell linear polymer foam coring is used for maximum impact resistance, stiffness, strength, and light weight. The cored hull also offers superior
  • Hull insulating properties, both thermal and acoustical

Salesperson Remarks
When it comes to performance sailboats, so many boats try to be all or nothing. There are the high tech boats with retractable sprits that while fast can offer little to nothing in the way of accomodations. Where does the owner and guests stay after a long offshore race? In the South with the heat in the summer air conditioning and some level of berth comfort is at least a mimimal requirement.  For apres racing activities most "racing" boats are great if you're heading back to the slip, but they offer very little in the way of comfort or a place to sit 99% of the time when you're not racing or sitting at the dock. Then there are other boats that are floating condos that offer little in the way of performance.

Parrot Tales owner wanted a boat that could competitively race but at the same time not give up on the comfort for living aboard or longer range cruising.  For him with some of the modifications he has done this boat works perfectly. He comments, "The changes I made to the boat would be beneficial to anyone. The upgraded horsepower motor and fuel capacity is a must for anyone who wants to cruise and the new 2005 model year keel makes the boat sail even better than a new one. Parrot Tales can be a very fast cruising boat if desired and was set up to be easy to single hand."

Not content to settle for a "stock" boat the keel on this boat was upgraded to the NEW 2005 Year Model C&C 121 keel which is regarded by all to be a better upwind keel.  All her sails and hardware have been heavily upgraded to make the most of short handed sailing. At the same time comfort was highly thought after. Over $10K in exterior canvas alone and the addition of full Air Conditioning and a Gen-Set to run that air was all custom added to make her the most comfortable boat of this style at the dock or offshore.
