3/18/2008
- two 45-meter displacement motor-yachts available for sale immediately and scheduled to be delivered in 2009;
- 3 construction slots for yachts up to 65 meter (220’) at its brand-new, state-of-the-art facility in the Free Zone of Antalya, the fast-growing Eastern Mediterranean yachting hub.
The first steel hull is now in final assembly, to be delivered in late spring 2009. Its sister-ship will be delivered in late summer 2009. This high-pedigree 45-meter yacht will be followed by 3 new motor yacht designs: a 50-meter, a 55-meter and a 65-meter.
The company’s facility, nearing completion on the last 10,000 m2 of land in the Antalya Free Zone, will be one of the largest in the Eastern Mediterranean, with two halls measuring 100m long and 16m wide as well as a 70m by 16m fully acclimatized laboratory-style paint shed.
The shipyard will undertake new construction and refit projects (power and sail) up to 65-meter in length and 1,200-ton displacement.
Along each side of the facility, space is made to accommodate long-term sub-contractors with the latest equipment and logistics capabilities, including air-conditioned storage, ventilation and extraction plants. The workshops and offices are being specifically built for them as well as modern facilities for visiting specialists and representatives of regulation authorities and the yachts’ owners.
In a recent statement the partners at Sunrise Yachts, Herbert P. Baum and Guillaume Roché, said: “Thanks to some recent prestigious launches such as The Maltese Falcon, the yachting industry is finally recognizing Turkey’s potential for building mega-yachts not just very cost-effectively, but with a high level of quality as well.”
Jean-Claude Carme, the company’s newly appointed VP of sales and marketing added: “The company is planning to build both its own yachts and exciting outside projects. Quality construction slots currently being a rare commodity - with most reputable shipyards running full in Europe - Sunrise Yachts is now officially inviting clients, brokers and designers to discover a highly attractive solution for their new build or refit project.”
