RINGWOOD, HAMPSHIRE UK - EchoPilot Marine Electronics will introduce Platinum FLS, to help boaters spot objects up to 200 meters (over 650 feet) ahead at MAATS 2005 in Las Vegas July 20-22.

EchoPilot's new Platinum FLS is the company's most advanced forward-looking sonar (FLS) system to date, with greater range and greater resolution than previous models. A large transflective color LCD can be seen in the brightest sunlight and the use of color enables enhanced seabed interpretation - the color of the target depends on the strength of echo that it returns.

Platinum FLS is available with a wireless link between the transducer and display for ease of installation. A wired version is also available for use in steel and aluminium boats. It is NMEA compatible and can display GPS data.
