American Yacht Institute is returning to Newport

Jan Martin, our head instructor, has just returned from Sydney, Australia, where she not only taught 2 classes of stewardesses, but also trained an instructor to continue our tradition of excellence in this new yacht crew training facility. After the overwhelmingly positive reception we received in Sydney, we are off for our second summer of training sessions in Newport, Rhode Island. We are, of course, continuing to offer classes in our Fort Lauderdale, FL location year-round. You can always reach us at 954-522-1044 for any of our class schedules.
We hope that by expanding our worldwide presence, we will increase awareness of our yachting industry and the career opportunities it has to offer. We are geared up to recruit and train professional crew members needed to fill the many positions that are being created daily by the yacht building industry. Since 1995 American Yacht Institute has trained interior staff and has established the yachting standard for silver service in the world-wide mega yacht industry. Our classes include silver service, caviar & champagne service, bartending, interior and exterior detailing of yachts. We also teach the rules and regulations, the basics of deckhand duties and yachting terminology, not to mention the attitudes & etiquette needed for ship board living. These skills enable the new crew to be valuable team players as soon as they hit the deck of any yacht. These classes are from 1-5 days depending on the crew member’s level of experience and the expertise desired.
