Remarks |
MIRABELLA V, the largest single masted sailing yacht in the world became a reality in May 2004. This revolutionary composite superyacht is now available for sale.
Her design by Ron Holland and construction in VT Shipbuilding, resulted from leading engineers involved in her creation. The design brief as stipulated by her knowledgeable owners was for a highly comfortable, charter capable yacht. Performance was a key requirement of this pioneering vessel with special emphasis on windward capability.
Her brief further called for speeds exceeding 20 knots under sail, powered by an amazing 36,000 sq.ft.of sail area hoisted on her 290’ Carbon Fiber mast with Harken deck winches and captive winch sail handling systems. She is powered by twin 1050 HP MTU diesels allowing a 3000 mile range under power alone. MIRABELLA V, under ideal conditions, has been known to sail at speeds between 16 knots -18 knots and even hit 20 knots!
The result has exceeded the dream MIRABELLA V performs beyond expectation while catering to some of the worlds most demanding and knowledgeable guests and charter clients.
At 246’9”/75.2m overall, MIRABELLA V, fitted with a centerboard keel, has the ability to navigate in shallow areas while maintaining stability offshore. This “super sloop” includes an enormous and luxurious interior accommodating 12 highly pampered guests in 6 large double cabins, plus an enormous full width master suite on deck, each cabin fitted with every comfort feature. From her voluminous and intelligent interior designed with guest service in mind to the expansive multi-level deck space allowing 20 people to be served at various locations aboard the yacht, a 20 person Jacuzzi and 29’ Hinckley tender plus various toys. MCA Compliant.
MIRABELLA V is truly the most unique and remarkable sailing yacht available in the world today. She holds the world record in the Guinness Book of Records for the largest sail and the tallest mast.
MIRABELLA V is completing her 5 year DNV survey as of November 2008.
