Remarks

MARY ANNE is a purpose designed and constructed, ecologically friendly, three masted square rigged Barquentine sailing vessel.  She was purchased by her present Owners in 2006 in Malta and sailed to Ecuador where she was prepared for Luxury Eco Cruising in the Galapagos Islands. She is operated and managed by the longest established and best known Tour operators in the archipelago, Angermeyer Cruises.

MARY ANNE can be reconfigured in any number of ways to provide any style or type of accommodation.  She is equally suited to conversion to a luxury sailing yacht with modern sail handling conveniences or to an adventure training vessel.

Introduction

MARY ANNE is a fully rigged three masted barquentine constructed of steel with wood decks.  Sails are handed and hoisted in the traditional manner without the aid of powered winches.  She has a full set of canvas sails which are in use daily depending on the itinerary and prevailing winds.  Her tapered masts, booms and yards are made of aluminum and steel.  She is powered by a 650 hp Deutz diesel engine and has a twin disc transmission.  She is fitted with two main generators by Cummins of 85 KW each operating at 55 HZ.  A smaller Mase generator of 35 KW is fitted to provide a separate source for 110 60HZ electricity for passenger needs.

MARY ANNE is presently configured to carry 20 passengers in yachting style staterooms with ensuite head vanity basins and showers.  She sails with 10 crew including Captain and two engineers.  However, the interior can be reconfigured for more or less passengers or crew as much of the accommodation is not presently in use.  The reconfiguring options are endless and could include a luxurious full beam master stateroom which could be situated in the stern. She is licensed to operate with 16 passengers and a guide in the Galapagos due to local regulations.

Accommodations

There is a large comfortable and bright salon and formal dining area large enough to seat and serve over twenty passengers.  A full bar is situated on the Port side with a buffet area for service.  There are four watertight doors to the salon area two to Port and two to Starboard.  In the center of the salon are companionways down to the forward guest staterooms and the aft guest staterooms.  There are two day heads located in the aft of the main salon.  Below forward there are six staterooms and below aft are four staterooms. All are finished equally well with one double and a single bunk.  Each has an ensuite shower vanity sink and marine head.

The Captain and Chief Engineer's staterooms are situated on deck behind the wheelhouse with close access to both steering positions.  There are four crew berths in the focsle and the remainder are below the wheelhouse adjacent to the ships galley.

Aft of the main salon there is a center-line companion way to the galley which is on the Starboard side.  To port are two more staterooms.  Further aft there is a stairway slightly to port that descends to eight more staterooms.  These are of varying sizes and there is a full beam lounge with transom windows fully aft.  This lounge along with one or two of the adjacent staterooms could be remodeled into a luxurious Owners stateroom.

Continuing aft one arrives at a short stairway to the aft steering cockpit which is elevated for a full view of the decks and rig and also has full engine controls.
