We are a brokerage firm, and not a law firm. We list, buy and sell luxury estate propoerties and yachts for a selective clientele.
Kurt Bosshardt is the sole owner of the company, the employing broker and an attorney.
Kurt's heritage of the Sea dates back to before he was born. His father qualified for command of, and sailed as Chief Engineer aboard a DDR Class Destroyer in the United States Navy. His uncle started as a career merchant marine officer, but moved on to navigating large aircraft before the days of GPS. He flew aboard the Pan Am Clipper Ships that circled the Globe, and later, for the Norwegian Government helping in their effort to locate the true (magnetic) North Pole.
Kurt first became a sailing instructor with a YMCA camp on Torch Lake, Michigan, and raced "E" boats against the local yacht club. He later sailed more extensively on the Great Lakes and into the North Channel, the Agean Sea and Adriatic Sea. He was even invited to crew aboard the "Liverpool Enterprise" for the first Whitbread race that visited Fort Lauderdale, but had to withdraw before making what would have been his first Atlantic Sail Crossing.
Kurt received a bachelor of science degree from Cornell University, and law degree from the University of Miami. While in law school, he quickly discovered his love of the sea, and focused on admiralty and ocean law courses. After a brief stint practicing in New Orleans in the offshore oil business, Kurt came back to Fort Lauderdale to pursue a practice representing large yacht owners. After 20+ years in this field, he has acquired just about as much knowledge as one can, in all aspects of yacht purchases, construction and ownership. And among his peers in the legal community, he has been given the highest rating for both legal ability and ethics ("AV"), and been voted into the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, for seven years from 2001 through 2007.
While practicing law, Kurt acquired a Merchant Marine Officer license, and like his uncle, made the transition to aviation by obtaining a pilot's license. He has decided now to utilize his talents to assist his clients in acquiring and managing luxury estates and yachts. Thus his recent move into the brokerage industry.

Jeffrey Miller is the second broker with the firm who is also a lawyer. He has strong ties to the yachting community both professionally and personally. He grew up in Palm Beach, Florida in a yachtsmen family spending his weekends and summers at sea fishing and diving. Jeff's love of the sea led to college in San Diego, and a semester sailing around the world aboard the University of Pittsburgh's floating campus, the SS. Universe.
After earning his law degree from the University of San Diego, Jeff pursued a Master of Laws in International law from Georgetown University where he graduated with distinction and won the school prize for most distinguished academic performance. While at Georgetown Jeff continued to pursue courses regarding the sea and received the CALI Future Excellence Award for best performance in Oceans Law and Policy.
Prior to relocating to Fort Lauderdale two years ago, Jeff lived in Washington D.C. practicing as a transactional attorney for a private firm and later serving as General Counsel for a global research firm. It was there he met his wife Elizabeth, daughter of world renowned yacht designer Paola Smith.
Jeff's decision to relocate to Fort Lauderdale was motivated by the opportunity to work with Kurt in representing large yacht owners, thus combining his passion for the law with his love of yachting and the sea. |
