| Monterey began operations in 1985 when brothers Charles and Jeff Marshall (both ex-employees of Chaparral Boats) formed a new company to produce a series of ski boats. Soon relocating to Archer, Florida, the Monterey line grew steadily during the late 1980s as production expanded and its boats reached an ever-wider national audience. In 1989 the company introduced their first family cruiser, and by the mid 1990s Monterey was offering a complete line of ski boats, runabouts, and express cruisers. With two separate manufacturing facilities and a nationwide network of dealers, the Monterey fleet is made up of sportboats and cruisers from 18 to 35 feet in length. Recent years have seen Monterey Boats grow at a rapid rate, and today the company produces over 2,000 boats per year. Well regarded for its contemporary styling and above-average construction, Monterey has an enviable reputation for customer satisfaction. |
