Cheoy Lee has been in the boatbuilding business for well over a century, although present-day operations can be traced back to 1936 when the company moved its production facilities from Shanghai to Hong Kong. It began building wooden sailing yachts in 1955 and moved into the production of fiberglass boats in the early 1970s. Today Cheoy Lee is one of the largest yacht builders in Asia with a product line that includes world-class sailing yachts, transoceanic trawlers, commercial vessels and semicustom megayachts. Family-owned for four generations, Cheoy Lee’s main office is located in Hong Kong with additional production facilities on Mainland China. Cheoy Lee has been a leader in the design and production of very large fiberglass yachts.
